Bulgarian food is the cuisine of Southeastern Europe. It
is essentially Slavic, it also has Turkish, Greek and Middle Eastern influences,
and even a little Italian and Hungarian ones. So because the relatively warm
climate and diverse geography, there an excellent variety of growth conditions
for vegetables, herbs and fruits. It is no wonder then, that Bulgarian cuisine
is particularly diverse.
Expect a rich salads at every meal and Bulgarian cuisine
also features a variety of hot and cold soups (an example being a cold soup
tarator). The Bulgarian cuisine is also noted for the diversity and quality
of dairy products and the variety of wines.
