Downhill,
cross-country or snowboarding take your pick! Geilo offers unique opportunities,
varied runs for children and adults and what is probably Norway’s best snowboard
park.
In the first weekend of December, Norway’s
leading ski suppliers meet in Geilo to present their equipment for the season.
Buyers are given the opportunity to test the equipment before deciding which items
to purchase.
The shortest route between Oslo and Bergen
is Highway 7, and Geilo is located in the middle of this stretch 249 kilometres
from Oslo and 239 kilometres from Bergen. From Oslo’s Gardermoen Airport,
you can reach Geilo by train in about 4 hours, while the train journey from Bergen
takes about 3 hours.

Hemsedal

natural scenery very similar to that found in the Alps, Hemsedal is one of Scandinavia’s
biggest winter destinations. The terrain offers all sorts of skiing activities
whether you prefer downhill, snowboarding or cross-country.
Hemsedal
lies in the heart of the Norwegian mountains between Oslo and Bergen. Buses and
trains operate between Hemsedal and both Oslo and Bergen. From Oslo, the bus journey
to Hemsedal takes about 4½ hours, while the train journey takes 3 hours
(to Gol). Bergen is a 5-hour bus drive away, or 3½ hours by train.
