Ole Blues Festival

The Ole Blues Festival occurs each year in Bergen and invites performers specializing in American Jazz, R&B, Blues, Rock, Pop, and Folk to perform in various venues all over the city. Since its first year in 1993 the Ole Blues Festival has gained popularity and praise from critics all over the world. The line-up for each year’s festival is usually out in mid February. The Troldhaugen concert hall is the home of Edvard Grieg, the famous composer. Troldhaugen has excellent acoustics and is a stunning piece of architecture. Completed in 1985 it is now equipped with a large grand piano and is host to many classical music concerts. Over 300 concerts are held here each year and it is especially busy during the Bergen Festival. Tours are available and no visit is complete without a stop at the Edvard Grieg museum, which is dedicated to the life and works of Norway’s foremost composer.
